Referral Partner Agreement
Version 2026-08-v1
1.What this is
You agree to refer clients who may need health insurance to For The People Insurance Group. We agree to look after them. That is the whole arrangement.
2.You are not selling insurance
You are not licensed to sell insurance and nothing here changes that. You may tell a client that we can help and hand them your link, your QR code or our phone number. You must not recommend a plan, quote a premium, explain what a policy covers, or tell someone whether they qualify for anything — including a subsidy. If a client asks any of that, the answer is “that’s exactly what they’ll go through with you.” This is the line between a referral and selling insurance without a licence, and it is not a formality.
3.You are not paid a commission
You receive no commission, no percentage and no payment tied to whether a client buys anything. If we ever introduce a flat referral fee that does not depend on a sale, we will tell you in writing first and you can decline it. Nothing is owed to you today and nothing is implied.
4.What you can see about your clients
Your dashboard shows who you referred, roughly when, and what stage they have reached — for example “we have spoken with them” or “enrolled”. You will never see their health information, their medical history, their income, their plan, or their premium. That is theirs, and in many cases the law protects it.
5.Consent
Only refer people who have agreed to hear from us. Do not submit someone’s details on their behalf without asking them, and do not buy or scrape a list and run it through your link. It is their choice to make.
6.Your link
Your referral code and link belong to this arrangement, not to you personally. We can deactivate them — and will, if they turn up somewhere that misrepresents us, or if referrals arrive from people who never agreed to be referred.
7.Ending it
Either of us can end this at any time, for any reason, with no notice and nothing owed. Clients already referred stay ours to look after.
8.Honesty
Do not describe yourself as an agent, a broker, or as working for For The People Insurance Group. You are a referral partner. Say that.
This agreement does not create an employment relationship, a partnership or an agency relationship, and it is not legal or tax advice. Insurance referral rules vary by state; if you are unsure how they apply to your practice, ask your own adviser.
